Important SEO Basics

April 28th, 2009 by admin

Do you know that site content and the way your website is built is important for the search engines and influences the rankings? But it definitely is! The main thing is to know how to implement all the SEO techniques properly.

Search engine optimization implies certain important aspects and rules you should follow in order for your website to be a worthy source.

1. Good design
The first impression every visitor gets when he reaches your website is very important. If the viewer is captivated by your website design and appearance he is already interested in further cooperation. So try to make your web presence look nice - think thoroughly over background, text fonts and colors, insert images that will correspond to the topic of your site, and make it all look harmonious.

2. Clear navigation
Every user appreciates convenient navigation and hates when he is confused while browsing the web pages. Divide your content into several logically managed sections and make it possible to reach every part of your website easily and quickly. Be careful with this aspect as bad navigation may really scare away the visitors from your site.

3. Relevant content
If your web site is dedicated to a certain topic make sure you provide some efficient and useful information on this very topic. If you cram your site with totally different content it may confuse and disappoint the visitor. The less trustworthy your website is the less viewers it will have and thus will gain no popularity. Remember that people who visit your site want to find there what they were searching for and your aim is to satisfy their interest.

4. Keywords density
Provide each of your page with keywords which will be picked up by search engines and predetermine good ranking positions. But be attentive to use keywords that are relevant for your website, don’t exaggerate with keywords and don’t use such that do not correspond to the content.

5. Link building
Underline the main aspects of your written content by links. It will influence your website positions in search results as well because search engines pick up every link. You can subscribe to link exchange programs and get links from other sites to your one providing a back link instead.

These are only basic aspects which you should keep in mind in order to make your website popular. Just think thoroughly, be responsible and honest with your visitors, and success won’t keep you waiting!

One more ultimate tip: for the keyworddensity, erase everything of your website that use code, cause code are words as well, no forms, no searchbox, specially no flash banners, etc. You get the point I guess?
Ok, one more tip: make comment tags within the html code with your targeted keywords….

Samuel..Clear navigation, Keywords density etc are nothing but the components of on-page optimization. I agree not brief description though but its any ways hard to explain those all in one post.

  7. Thanks. Good to know some practical and effective SEO tips.

  8. If you have several topics that could each support their own website, it might be worth having multiple domains. Why? First, search engines usually list only one page per domain for any given search, and you might warrant two. Second, directories usually accept only home pages, so you can get more directory listings this way. Why not a site dedicated to gumbo pudding pops?
